Come kick off the mtb season with a fun ride at Riverside State Park. The ride is about 9 miles long and will start and finish at Tim Arnolds house (5818 W. Rifle Club Rd). Chili will be served after the ride.
The ride is hosted by Round and Round Productions, Bicycle Butler and FTTRC.
Cost is $15 and registration is onsite the day of the event. Please RSVP to chili_ride@yahoo.com
April 3 9am-1pm and April 11 9am-1pm
We'll be working on rerouting the the cross country trail that climbs up the east end of the park. It is being transformed into a nice climbing trail (like the Esmeralda trail) and the fall line portion decommissioned and naturalized. The second work day may not be necessary, depending on how many folks we have.
Where to meet: Sandpit parking
What to bring: boots, gloves, water, snack. We have some tools, but you can bring rakes, shovels, loppers, and any trail tools you might have (pulaski, mcloeds)
If you want to help but have never done anything like this before, we'll show you what to do. We'll be teaching techniques for building sustainable trails - low maintenance, high fun.
The Beacon Hill Recreation Area Trail Map is now available for purchase for $8 at Mountain Gear, Bike Hub, Bicycle Butler, Wheel Sport East and North Division (with more locations to come). Sales of the map are a fundraiser for FTTRC and helps support local trails.
You can see a preview of the map here
The two-sided, full-color map shows trails, access points, points of interest, parks, land ownership and community connections. One side of the map is an overview of the entire trail system, and the other side focuses on Camp Sekani mountain bike park. The installation of trail markers to correspond with the map has just begun and will be completed over the next few years.

We are a bunch of folks who like to have fun with mountain bikes. Not all of us wear lycra - some of us like air, big bikes and baggy shorts. No one gets graded on the bike they ride, the number of crashes they suffer, or how fast (or slow) they can ride. What we have in common is a love for riding trails, a desire to make cool new trails, and a commitment to keeping trails open for biking. Whatever your style, we invite you to join our growing community.
